Join us in Baton Rouge Every Sunday
March 26, 2008
Join us for 12 noon at 1933 Wooddale in Baton Rouge, LA
Our historic Baptist church located in New Orleans, LA marched into our additional home on Sunday, June 24, 2007 located in Baton Rouge, LA. . After the devastation from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Pastor Charles J. Southall, III, with the unanimous vote from the congregation, decided it was necessary to find an additional home for First Emanuel Baptist Church members. The additional location, at 1933 Wooddale in Baton Rouge , LA will not only serve as a house of worship, but also as a safe haven in the event of another catastrophic event.
Members of First Emanuel Baptist Church, founded in 1886, marched into the additional building at 12 noon to hold their first service there. The building acquired by the predominantly black congregation was once formerly used by the state of Louisiana.
Please Note! We are not abandoning our community in New Orleans. Our people do not have to relocate. We are merely obeying the voice of the Lord as He increases our territory in that we've got a additional, larger facility and opportunity to do more for Christ. Continue praying for God’s hand upon the project along with our Church and that He accomplishes all He desires thru us.
