I was born in Baton Rouge, LA to Baptist and Methodist parents. My mother, Nellie W.
Jenkins, was reared in the Baptist faith and my father, Granderson Jenkins, III, was reared
in the Methodist faith. I am the third child of five children. I have two older sisters
(Mattie and Mikki) and two younger brothers (Ronderson and Granderson).
